PHR is unit of measure that all compounder use it .The unit is weight of ingredient of polymer and others. 

Below is the sample how it use in formulation ;

1. Set Specific Objective (price, Required Properties etc).
2. Select Base Polymer (NR Blend or Synthetic Rubber or blend it together).
3. Mach or improve formulation from existing data.
4. Select material and Cost Estimate of Compound. 
5. Develop COMPOUNDS Properties in Laboratory to meet desired.
6. Design processability of Compound in Factory.
7. Send the Sample to customer for Testing.

1. Rubber or polymer.
  • Natural Rubber  :  STR 20 (SMR20) , RSS#3
  • Synthetic Rubber 
    • :BR         -Butadien Rubber
    • :SBR       -Styrene Butadine Rubber
    • :EPDM     -Ethylene-Propylene Diene Monomer
    • :NBR       -Acrylonitrile Butadiene Rubber
    • :CR         -Chloroprene Rubber

2. Fillers – these are carbon black, clay, or calcium carbonate , help improve rubber product properties and reduce formulation costs. They can increase tensile strength, hardness, and resistance to tear and abrasion

3. Process Aids,  aid in the process of rubber, both in the moulding process and mixing process.

4. Activator – these form chemical complexes with the accelerators, which further activate the curing process.

5. Antidegradents /Antioxidant     – these are added to increase the resistance to attacks of ozone, UV light and oxygen.

6. Accelerator – accelerate the vulcanization of curing by increasing the cure rate.

7. Cure agent – Usually sulfur, but peroxide can also be used.
